The first show we offer is called THAT’LL BE THE DAY: A Tribute to Buddy Holly and The Crickets. It consists of two, hour long sets that take the audience on a musical journey through the career of Buddy Holly and The Crickets. The Rave-Ons play all of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits and some other popular 50’s rock tunes that inspired Buddy. There’s lots of humorous banter in between the songs and the audience will receive an educational background on the routes of rock and roll while witnessing one of the most energetic and entertaining musical acts out there. All four band members are featured with impressive solos on their instruments and our upright player performs show stopping tricks on his upright bass.
We also produce an accurate 90 minute recreation of Buddy Holly’s last concert that features performers who impersonate Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper, as well as a horn section. The tribute show is called The Night The Music Lived. We play all the songs that were actually played at that final concert and go in depth about the story of what happened that fateful night. It gives people a chance to experience a huge moment in rock and roll history like never before.
